LONDON ZEITGEIST

Video Installation, 2021

As part of LONDON ZEITGEIST 2021, selected video works were shown across giant public screens in London, Seoul, and Tokyo. The video showcase was curated by Sir Norman Rosenthal, who led exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts from 1977 to 2008. The name was borrowed from Rosenthal's 1982 exhibition Zeitgeist, a survey of paintings by 45 artists at Berlin's Martin-Gropius-Bau.

'That complex German word "Zeitgeist" (Time/Spirit) that more and more has entered the English language ... naturally relates to place as well as time,' wrote Rosenthal in a statement.

LONDON ZEITGEIST was presented by The Cultural Institute of Radical Contemporary Arts (CIRCA) in London’s Piccadilly Circus. The work was broadcast each night at 20:23 (local time) across a global network of screens and in addition to this, limited editions prints from participating artists were sold to support the #CIRCAECONOMY – a circular model designed to fund the free public art programme and create life-changing opportunities for the community.

Reliquary 2 was presented as part of this project, as four chapters. Also featuring PAN AFRICAN FLAG FOR THE RELIC TRAVELLERS' ALLIANCE, MOTHERSHIP, DUALITIES and WHAT I HEAR I KEEP.
